Where Queenstown is

Queenstown is a town on Lake Wakatipu in the Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island. Listings name the area within the district, such as Queenstown Central, Frankton or Arrowtown, so you can judge the commute.

Two seasons

Summer runs roughly December to March and is hired from September to November. The winter ski season runs roughly June to September and is hired from February to May. Many roles are year-round.

Kinds of work

Work rights

To work in New Zealand you need the right to work here, for example as a New Zealand citizen or resident, an Australian citizen, or on a visa that allows you to work. When you apply, you tell the employer which of these applies to you, and they confirm it with you before an offer.

queenstown.jobs does not assess visas and cannot tell you whether you can work in New Zealand. For official information, read Immigration New Zealand. For advice about your own situation, talk to a licensed immigration adviser or a lawyer.
